If you have received a Code Enforcement Violation Notice, you either own or are otherwise 'in control' (i.e. live in, lease, or manage) a property that has been found to have violations of the County, or Town ordinances or other adopted codes.
The first thing you should do is read the Notice. The Notice will tell you the address of the violation property, when the violations were observed by the Code Enforcement Officer, and what violations were present when the Code Officer made their inspection. Next, contact the Code Enforcement Officer named on the Violation Notice. Their phone number is on the notice. The Code Enforcement Officer can usually answer any question you may have about the property and the violations observed at the time of the inspection. Lastly, remediate the violations! The Code Enforcement Officer will work with you if you need time to comply the cited violations of the City Code. You may call the Code Enforcement Officer if you need a short extension, or contact the Director of Planning for requesting a longer extension. Non-compliance of the Violation Notice Failure to comply with a Code Enforcement Violation Notice is punishable by both criminal and civil penalties!
Criminal Penalties: Violations of the adopted codes and Ordinances are Misdemeanors. These violations are punishable by fines of up to $1,000 (not including court costs) and/or up to 6 months in jail, each day the violation exist constitutes and additional fine. Civil Penalties: Any cost incurred by the county for property remediation will be levied on the respective properties as a special assessment tax and shall be added and be collected with other taxes in the assessment roll in the same manner as other county taxes and shall continue to be a lien on the property until paid.
2. A hard copy can be provided upon request from the County Manager's Office prior to the meeting. Copies are also available on the day of the County Commission meeting.

In Pahrump, contact the shop (775) 751-4260 to set an appointment. You will need to know the five digit number off the back bumper and the maintenance needed which is shown on the sticker on the dash (example: A1, A2, B2, etc.). In Tonopah, contact the Shop at (775) 482-7337. You will need to know the three digit equipment number from the back right rear of the vehicle and the maintenance needed which is shown on the same sticker on the windshield (example: A1, A2, B2, etc.).

The cost of meals shall be reimbursed based upon the applicable per diem rate for meals expenses as shown on the US General Services Administration web site (www.gsa.gov/mie), based on the per diem rates for the travel destination. Nye County does not reimburse for incidentals. Mileage rates for 2024 are 0.670 cents per mile if no county car is available, 0.335 cents for convenience.

The Pahrump Human Resources Office is located at 2101 E. Calvada Blvd, Suite 150. Located within the Calvada Eye. Off of Highway 160 proceed onto Calvada Boulevard. We are almost directly across the street from Southwest Medical. If you get to or pass Dandelion Street, you have gone too far. We are located in the old yellowish modular building facing south where the gated county vehicle parking is located.
Under the Temporary Use section of Nye County Code HERE you will find all the short-term, seasonal or limited period of times on a particular lot or parcel.
Recreational Vehicle, Temporary Seasonal Use: A recreational vehicle within all residential zoning districts shall be allowed as a temporary, seasonal use for a maximum of one hundred twenty (120) calendar days per calendar year without a temporary use permit. Occupancies exceeding seven (7) consecutive days shall require connection to an approved permanent wastewater disposal system (i.e., individual septic system or public sewer system) and an approved permanent water supply (i.e., private domestic well or public water system).
To obtain a Flood Elevation Certificate application and obtain a Floodproofing Certificate for Non-Residential buildings select the links or visit the FEMA website. Elevation data reported on a FEMA Elevation Certificate must be certified by a licensed surveyor, Engineer or Architect. This document is reference in the NFIP Flood Insurance Manual (Special Certifications Section.)
You must also apply for an Elevation Certificate review with Nye County Planning HERE. A wet stamp hard copy must be dropped off at the Nye County Planning Department and a $75.00 fee paid prior to the commencement of the Flood Plain Administrator review.
Property development in the Pahrump Regional Planning District is governed by Title 17 of the Nye County Code. This code governs all property development and land uses. You can also speak with a Planner to ask specific questions to ensure that your project will comply with the Development Code. You can find the code by following this LINK.
Demonstrating compliance with the Development Code is a required step for all building permits. This ensures that any use you make of your property will not have a negative impact on neighboring properties or property values. Even when a building permit is not required, all structures must meet Title 17 of the Nye County Code requirements. You must obtain an approved Zoning Review Application HERE prior to the start of ANY construction

Specific property zoning can be determined by visiting the Planning Department or visiting the Nye County Assessor data search (This only applies to the Pahrump Regional Planning District).
The field showing ZONING is what your property is zoned. For example NC for Neighborhood Commercial. Do not pay attention to the Land Use code the Assessor's Office shows. That is for tax purposes.
Property zoning determines what a property can be used for and the applicable development standards such as setbacks, height restrictions, etc. Planning staff can discuss the zoning rules and specific requirements for developing a parcel. Zoning information is also available online with the Nye County GIS interactive Map.

You can find this information by contacting the utility company who has jurisdiction in the area for which the property is located. All of the Public Utility Companies servicing Nye County can be found here.
You may obtain flood zone information from Nye County by stopping by the Pahrump Planning Department, 250 N. Hwy 160, Ste. 1 or by calling the Floodplain Administrator at (775) 751-4242.

You may consider scheduling a court appearance to plead NOT GUILTY. The not guilty plea form may be obtained from our forms page and submitted by mail, fax or email. Prior to entering your Not Guilty plea to the court, you may want to contact the Nye County District Attorney’s office for possible plea negotiations. By negotiating a plea agreement, a traffic trial is avoided. If the District Attorney and the Defendant are unable to reach an agreement, then a trial date in front of the Justice of the Peace will be set. All Defendants, including non-local individuals, must appear in person or authorize an attorney to represent them at these proceedings.
Please contact the court. The court may grant you a one time, 30 day extension to pay your traffic citation. The court also offers payment plans ($25 fee) with a minimum payment amount of $50/month, if you are unable to pay in full by your due date. You also have the option of performing community service in lieu of paying the fine/fees with a court approved, non-profit organization at the rate of $10/hour. If you complete community service without getting the court's approval, it may be denied by the Judge.
