[ARCHIVED] In-person voting will be available for General Election

Due to the passage of AB4, all active registered voters in Nye County will receive a mail ballot, but all voters will have the option of voting in person at the polls on touchscreen voting machines. This will be for Early Voting in Pahrump and Tonopah, and the General Election at the precincts.

Voted mail ballots must be returned in person by the close of polls on election day or postmarked on or before election day to be counted. October 27, 2020 is the last day the Clerk’s Office will mail out replacement ballots.

Things to expect at the polls for in-person voting:

  • Your mail ballot has to be canceled before you can be allowed to vote in person so check in will take longer. (The mail ballot CANNOT be canceled in advance, only at the poll when voting)
  • Expect less voting machines as we will have to make sure voters can maintain a social distance while voting.
  • Equipment will need to be sanitized between voters.

Please contact the Clerk, Sandra Merlino, by phone at (775)482-8134 or by email at for more information.

October 6, 2020 is the last day to register to vote, update registration or change party affiliation by mail or by appearing in person at the Nye County Clerk’s offices. Registrations must be postmarked by this date.
