Here is the latest updates on what is happening with Nye County government offices and towns.

NOTE: There are still no reported presumptive or confirmed cases in Nye County as of noon on Wednesday.

The County Clerk’s Office is now closed to walk-in traffic in Tonopah and Pahrump. We will not be issuing marriage licenses until further notice. If you have documents for filing or processing through our office, please place them in the drop box located outside the front door of the courthouse or mail them to:

The Treasurer’s Office is closed to walk-in traffic at both their Tonopah and Pahrump offices. The 2020 Treasurer Trust Property Sales (Tonopah and Pahrump) will be postponed, from the currently scheduled dates in the middle of April, until sometime in June 2020. We will publish the new dates once we have them scheduled.  Treasurer’s webpage

The District Attorney’s Office is closed to public walk-ins but remains available by phone and email.  DA webpage

TOWN OF PAHRUMP - To protect our most vulnerable populations and out of an abundance of caution, all Town of Pahrump facility reservations are canceled beginning Wednesday, March 18th, for the next 30 days. No new bookings are being taken at this time. This includes the Bob Ruud Community Center, the Town Parks, and the McCullough Rodeo Arena.

TONOPAH - The Town of Tonopah and Tonopah Public Utilities’ offices, out of an abundance of caution and consideration to the public and our employees, will be closed this week. TPU payments can be made online at or by calling 855-300-8636. You can also drop payments in the payment drop box located just outside the TPU door at 140 S. Main Street. There will be staff in the office and available for emergencies if necessary. Please call the Town at 482-6336 or TPU at 482-6643.

BEATTY - The Beatty Town Office & the Beatty Community Center will be closed for the next 30 days as of March 18th. All scheduled events at the Community Center have been canceled.

GABBS- The Gabbs Townhall will be closed for the next 30 days. We are hoping to have the office open again April 20th.

Utility payments can be made by mail or left in the drop box at the Townhall. Garbage service will continue to be picked up every Wednesday. Thank you for your patience during this time.

ROUND MOUNTAIN - In consideration of the health and safety of our employees, patrons, and vendors, the Town of Round Mountain town offices will be closed to the public for the next 30 days, starting March 18th. Town board meetings are canceled as well.

The Town’s recreation department will not rent the community center for the next 30 days. The community gym, along with its respective rooms (weight room, cardio room, and racquetball courts) will be closed for the next 30 days.

Round Mountain Public Utilities payments can be made online at, by phone call at 775-346-2054, or drop off payment box at the Town Hall , 100 Hadley Circle, Hadley Subdivision.

There will be staff in the Town offices during business hours to answer calls Monday through Friday, 8 a.m to 5 p.m at 775-377-2508 (town hall/RMPU) or 775-377-1166 (recreation).
