[ARCHIVED] Many county government offices closed to walk-in traffic

The following County Government Offices have notified the county administration that they have closed for an undetermined amount of time to public walk-ins but will maintain regular business hours to respond by email and phone, and process electronic filings. These steps are being taken out of an abundance of caution in the face of Coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns. The county has also established a Coronavirus (COVID-19) information page 

As of Tuesday morning, there are no reported presumptive or confirmed cases in Nye County.

TREASURER’S OFFICE TO REMAIN OPEN

From Treasurer John Prudhont:

The Treasurer’s Office remains open Monday – Friday, 8 am to 5 pm to serve our citizens. However, in response to concerns regarding COVID-19, we encourage you to undertake any business you have with this office remotely, if possible. Please consider these options:

  • Property Tax information is available 24/7 at https://nyenv.devnetwedge.com/
  • Pay online at https://nyenv.devnetwedge.com/. eCheck or credit card payments accepted. The payment vendor will charge a fee for eCheck and credit card transactions.
  • Mail your payments to Nye County Treasurer 170 N. Floyd St., Suite. 2, Pahrump, NV 89060.
  • Call 775-751-4200 if you have questions or need to speak with a representative.

County Clerk’s Office to remain open

The Nye County Clerk’s Office will remain open normal office hours, Monday – Friday 8 am to 5 pm, and closed for lunch.

We encourage the public and law offices to conduct as much business as possible by mail to limit exposure to COVID-19.

TOWN OF PAHRUMP OFFICES CLOSINGS INCLUDE:

The Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue business office will be closed to the public but will remain operating in regard to emergency response and preparedness. The PVFD is suspending the acquisition of burn permits, fire reports, station tours, and other general questions at the front desk.: Webpage

MESSAGE FROM THE TOWN OF TONOPAH:

“The Town of Tonopah and Tonopah Public Utilities’ offices, out of an abundance of caution and consideration to the public and our employees, will be closed this week. TPU payments can be made online at https://www.iwebms.net/tput or by calling 855-300-8636. You can also drop payments in the payment drop box located just outside the TPU door at 140 S. Main Street. There will be staff in the office and available for emergencies if necessary. Please call the Town at 482-6336 or TPU at 482-6643.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers and appreciate your patience during this time.”

SENIOR CENTERS ADJUST OPERATIONS

The Beatty and Tonopah Senior Centers will be closed, effective March 17th, for congregate and transportation services until April 3rd, but that date is subject to change. These steps are being taken out of an abundance of caution in the face of Coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns.

However, the centers will continue to provide meals by pick-up at our regular serving hours, 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

For clients who do not have the ability to drive to the center to pick-up meals, they may receive meals through our home-delivered program and can sign up with their respective center’s Site Manager.

Staff will continue with normal work hours at this time.

The public can contact their center between 9 am and 1:30 pm with questions or concerns.

NOTE: The County does not oversee the Senior Center programs in Pahrump, Amargosa Valley, or elsewhere. Please contact those centers for their plans.
