The candidate filing period for non-judicial offices in Nye County begins Monday, March 2, and lasts through March 13.
The County Clerk’s Office in Pahrump and Tonopah will be accepting candidate filing paperwork from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, close noon to 1 pm for lunch.
This filing period does not apply to judicial candidates who were required to file in January.
Candidates are required to appear in person to pay the filing fee, show identification and complete, verify and sign their filing forms. Additional information for candidates is available through the Clerk’s webpage.
Some seats up for election this year include three County Commission seats and the Treasurer.

The 2020 primary election is on June 9, with early voting from May 23 to June 5 in Tonopah and Pahrump. The general election is Nov. 3, with early voting from Oct. 17-30. Residents are encouraged to check their voter registration status to make sure they will be able to vote in the elections.
