[ARCHIVED] Notification of Proposed Amendments to Nye County Code, Chapter 9.20 Prostitution

Please be notified pursuant to NRS 237.080 the Nye County Board of County Commissioners will be proposing amendments to Nye County Code, Title 9, Chapter 9.20, to amend the ordinance governing prostitution in the county. The amendments are available by clicking on the link below.

Specifically, the proposed amendments will:

  2. Amend Section 9.20.020 Definitions;

  3. Amend Section 9.20.030 License Required;

  4. Amend Section 9.20.040 Licensing Board Created;

  5. Amend Section 9.20.050 Powers and Duties of the Board;

  6. Amend Section 9.20.060 Application Generally;

  7. Add Section 9.20.065, Provisional Permit;

  8. Amend Section 9.20.070, Waiver of Privilege;

  9. Amend Section 9.20.080, License Application; Filing;

  10. Amend Section 9.20.090, License Application; Contents;

  11. Amend Section 9.20.100, License Application; Investigation;

  12. Amend Section 9.20.110, License Issued;

  13. Amend Section 9.20.120, License Denial;

  14. Amend Section 9.20.125, Restriction on Number of Licensed Operations Located in Amargosa Valley;

  15. Amend Section 9.20.130, License Restrictions;

  16. Amend Section 9.20.140, Registration of Licensees and Employees;

  17. Amend Section 9.20.145, Display of Registration Card;

  18. Amend Section 9.20.150, Health Examinations of Prostitutes and Test;

  19. Amend Section 9.20.160, General Prohibitions;

  20. Amend Section 9.20.165, Emergency Suspension by Sheriff;

  21. Amend Section 9.20.170, Suspension or Revocation of License;

  22. Amend Section 9.20.180, Hearings;

  23. Amend Section 9.20.190, Abstentia Ownership Prohibited;

  24. Amend Section 9.20.200, License Not Transferable;

  25. Add Section 9.20.205, Exception when License Transferable;

  26. Amend Section 9.20.210, Transfer of Ownership or Interest;

  27. Add Section 9.20.215, Temporary License Upon Death of Licensee;

  28. Amend Section 9.20.220, Display of License;

  29. Amend Section 9.20.230, Fees;

  30. Delete Section 9.20.240, Time Limit for Filing Application for License.

In accordance with NRS 237.080, business owners and interested parties may submit data and arguments to the Nye County Board of Commissioners, in care of the County Manager, as to whether or not the proposed rule will:

  1. Impose a direct and significant economic burden upon a business; or

  2. Directly restrict the formation, operation or expansion of business.
