[ARCHIVED] First Veterans Banners placed on Calvada Boulevard

The first group of Veterans Banners were placed on light poles along Calvada Boulevard west of Highway 160 on Tuesday as part of the new Nye County Veterans Banner Program.
Eleven banners honoring 21 service members were placed in advance of a media debut event on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. near the bridge at the duck pond in the Clavada Eye, 2100 E.Walt Williams Drive.
The program was created in partnership between the county and area veterans to honor its Nye County's past and present veterans for their service to our country and in turn, encourage a new generation to provide service to their country.
The banner acts as a symbol of our gratitude that pays tribute to the commitment and courage displayed by individuals that have served in the Armed Forces.

The program was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on October 17. The banners are being paid for through the county Veterans Service Fund.
Nye County will be accepting applications for the program until Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at 5 p.m.
