[ARCHIVED] Waggoner ratified as new planning department director


The Board of County Commissioners ratified the selection of Brett Waggoner as the director of the Planning Department on Monday, March 12, 2018. Until Monday's ratification, he served as assistant planning director since November, joining the county with more than 20 years of business experience in the construction industry.

“I look forward to utilizing my vast construction and development experience and skills to work with and for all Nye County residents to achieve our common goals,” Waggoner said following his ratification.

Prior to joining the county, Mr. Waggoner was the Business Development Manager for Utilities Inc.; and has held Regional Management, Operations Management and Vice President positions with various land development and general contracting companies.

He started his career in the 1990s as a Construction Superintendent for a national home builder.

Former director Darrell Lacy will remain with the county as the director of Nuclear Waste Repository Project Office.
