[ARCHIVED] Former county manager appointed treasurer

TONOPAH, Nev. - The Board of County Commissioners appointed former County Manager Pam Webster on Wednesday to fill the vacant county treasurer position for the remainder of the unfinished term.
Webster will be sworn in later today and start immediately.
The vote was 5-0 during a special teleconference board meeting to discuss the county financial audit and the vacancy left by the recent resignation of Treasurer Richard Billman.
Billman resigned in a January 11, 2018, letter to the Board of County Commissioners citing health issues.
Billman was Treasurer for the 4 years and 7 months.
Pam retired as county manager on January 3, 2018. Pam joined the county in 2006 as Comptroller, becoming assistant county manager a year later. She served the county as county manager since 2012 until earlier this month.
The treasurer office will be on the 2018 primary and general election ballot as part of the office's election cycle, which is every four years. The current term expires January 7, 2019.
