Nye County Board of County Commissioners will be reviewing the projects that are being considered potential CDBG funding requests; the amount of funds that will be requested for each project, the availability of a description of past performance, and where the potential project list and past performance description can be reviewed. The public is invited to participate by providing ideas, comments and suggestions concerning potential projects. The Public Meeting will be held in conjunction with the regularly scheduled Board of County Commissioners meeting on:

August 15, 2017 @ 10:00 am
101 Radar Rd, Tonopah NV 89049 or
2100 E. Walt Williams Drive, Pahrump NV 89048

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban has made approximately $2.3 million to $2.4 million dollars available through the CDBG program. These grants are available on a competitive basis to Nevada’s 26 non-entitlement cities and counties. In an effort to encourage fewer, larger applications, applications in excess of $150,000 will be given priority and will be reviewed first by the CDBG Advisory Committee.

CDBG funding may be used for a variety of community and economic development activities. Program funds must be spent on projects which primarily serve Low and Moderate Income (LMI) persons. Seventy percent of the projects funded must benefit communities and neighborhoods where at least 51% of the residents have annual household incomes of 80% or less of the median income for their respective counties.
