[ARCHIVED] Back-to-School preparations focus of county road crews this week
Nye County Road Department is focusing on back-to-school preparations around the county.
In Southern Nye, crews will program the School Zone signs. Crews will also clean or replace crosswalks at all area schools in Pahrump and Amargosa Valley, and this may require slight delays. Public Works will be installing two new School Zone radar signs on North Blagg Road at Rosemary Clarke Middle School.
Nye County students return to the classroom on Monday, August 7.
Along with this work, we will be shouldering the roadway on Homestead Road between Manse Road and Turner Boulevard; there are no anticipated delays in this area.
Pothole patching will also be taking place throughout the Pahrump Valley and Amargosa.
In central Nye, patching potholes and clearing broken asphalt on Belmont Road, and in Tonopah.
The county is also blading roads near Currant, Carvers north of Round Mountain, and near the Lincoln County border.
Public Works will give its twice monthly update before the Nye County Commission on Tuesday, Aug. 1. The meeting starts at 10 a.m. and is available online through Nye County.net.
