[ARCHIVED] Southern Nevada CERT and Nye County Emergency Management Offer Free Training

If an emergency or disaster happens in your neighborhood, are you prepared to help yourself, your family or your neighbors? The Southern Nevada Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) can help through free training.

Nye County Emergency Management and Southern Nevada CERT are joining forces to offer a free CERT course May 6-7, 2017.

The two-day course will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Emergency Management Training Room, 1510 E. Siri Lane, Pahrump, NV 89060. This course is open to the public. Advance registration is required.

The CERT course, which is administered by the city of Las Vegas, teaches students about disaster preparedness, fire suppression, emergency medical response, search and rescue, terrorism and weapons of mass destruction. Each student will receive a backpack full of emergency supplies for participating.
