[ARCHIVED] Notice of Public Meeting Community Development Block Grant Program

The public is invited to participate by providing ideas, comments and suggestions concerning potential projects. The Public Meeting will be held in conjunction with the regularly scheduled Board of County Commissioners meeting on:

November 12, 2014 @ 10:00 am
101 Radar Rd, Tonopah NV 89049 or
2100 E. Walt Williams Drive, Pahrump NV 89048

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban has made approximately $2.2 million dollars available through the CDBG program. These grants are available on a competitive basis to Nevada’s 26 non-entitlement cities and counties. In an effort to encourage fewer, larger applications, applications in excess of $150,000 will be given priority and will be reviewed first by the CDBG Advisory Committee.

CDBG funding may be used for a variety of community and economic development activities. Program funds must be spent on projects which primarily serve Low and Moderate Income (LMI) persons. Seventy percent of the projects funded must benefit communities and neighborhoods where at least 51% of the residents have annual household incomes of 80% or less of the median income for their respective counties.

Call (775)751-4281 or email for a preliminary application or for further information. All applications must be submitted to 2100 E. Walt Williams Drive, Suite 100, Pahrump, NV 89048; via fax (775) 751-7093; or email by October 24, 2014 @ 5:00 p.m.

Nye County promotes fair housing and makes all programs available to low and moderate income families regardless of age, race, color, sex, national origin, sexual preference, marital status, or handicap. Persons with disabilities who require special accommodations or assistance (e.g. sign language interpreters or assistive listening devices) at the meeting should notify Nye County Administration at (775) 751-7075 prior to the meeting. Relay Nevada TDD# (800) 326-6888 or 800-326-6868.
