[ARCHIVED] Notice of Public Hearing Community Development Block Grant Program

The public is invited to participate by providing ideas, comments and suggestions concerning potential projects. There will be a Public Hearing regarding potential CDBG projects during the Nye County Commissioner’s Meeting on November 5, 2013 at 10:30 am at the following locations:

101 Radar Rd, Tonopah NV 89049 or
2100 E. Walt Williams Drive, Pahrump NV 89048

CDBG grants are available on a competitive basis to Nevada’s 26 non-entitlement cities and counties. The aggregate use of CDBG funds must principally benefit persons of low and moderate income in a manner that ensures at least 70 percent of the amount is expended for activities that benefit such persons. A low and moderate income household is one with a total household income of 80 percent or less of the median income for the county. Since 1982, Nye County has received $2,931,841 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds.

Nye County promotes fair housing and makes all programs available to low and moderate income families regardless of age, race, color, sex, national origin, sexual preference, marital status, or handicap. Persons with disabilities who require special accommodations or assistance (e.g. sign language interpreters or assistive listening devices) at the meeting should notify Nye County Administration at (775) 751-7075 by October 29, 2012. Relay Nevada TDD# (800) 326-6888 or 800-326-6868.
