[ARCHIVED] Technical Advisory Committee being formed for Beatty Airport Master Plan

Nye County Public Works is seeking applicants interested in participating in a Technical Advisory Committee for the Beatty Airport Master Plan

The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) will consist of 3-to-5 people as part of the public involvement program. The TAC will be in place for the duration of the master plan project and will be responsible for reviewing draft documents and providing input at certain points in the process. Members of the Committee should have a high level of technical expertise associated with aviation, airport operations, and are major stakeholders in the airport's operation. 

 Interested parties should submit their name, phone number, email, affiliation, and relevant experience with airports to Public Works at publicworks@co.nye.nv.us. Please submit your interest by 5 pm, Thursday, June 29, 2023.

Committee members will also be called upon to participate in public meetings to assist the project team in delivering the project details to the public. 

They will be asked to participate in as many as five meetings in Beatty.

 Public Works is looking for applicants who:

  • Have an understanding of the Beatty Airport and general aviation to provide technical comments to the various master plan chapters. 
  • Technical expertise in aviation is preferred but not required. 
  • Are connected to the community and be able to represent the interests of the town's residents. 
  • Members can also be well-connected with local and regional businesses and represent the business and tourism constituents. 
  • Members can be county and town employees or elected officials. 
  • Members can also come from neighboring towns/counties that may realize a positive gain from the growth of the airport.
