[ARCHIVED] Offices in Tonopah closed Friday due to Blizzard Warning

Due to the Blizzard Warning issued for northwest Nye County, all county offices in Tonopah will be closed Friday, February 24, 2023. Emergency services and other public safety responders will be on call. 

NWS Elko has issued a BLIZZARD WARNING for 10 am Friday to 4 am Saturday for NW Nye County including Tonopah and Round Mountain by the National Weather Service. 

From NWS ELKO: A historic winter storm is set to unfold across Nye county. Moisture with this system is in the top 10% of such events. Mod/Hvy snow wind gusts up to 60 mph for an extended period is why a Blizzard Warning has been issued for NW Nye. Travel will be near impossible. Visibilities will be near or at zero. For historical context this is the 1st Blizzard Warning issued by the (NWS ELKO) in 10 years, and 1st for this area. Travel will be extremely risky and dangerous.
