[ARCHIVED] First Community Development Block Grant Public Meeting on Tuesday at County Commission

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Nye County Board of County Commissioners will discuss possible applications for funding under the next fiscal year’s (July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024) State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and to solicit citizen input on possible activities to be included in the application. 

The Public Meeting will be held in conjunction with the regularly scheduled Board of County Commissioners meeting on: July 19, 2022, 10:00 am, 101 Radar Rd, Tonopah NV 89049 or 2100 E. Walt Williams Drive, Pahrump NV 89048.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has made approximately $3 million dollars available through the CDBG program.

The purpose of this public meeting is to provide information about the CDBG program, past projects that have been funded in Nye County, how to apply, eligibility requirements, how and where funds can be used, and to give citizens an opportunity to make their comments known regarding what types of eligible activities Nye County should apply for under the State CDBG program. A second and third public hearing will be held to discuss proposed projects submitted to date. A final hearing will be held to discuss, approve and rank applications prior to submittal to the State.

Four (4) Public Meetings will be held in conjunction with a Board of Commission meeting as required under CDBG Eligibility Guidelines.

  • July 19, 2022 – Overview of Program and Past Projects Presentation
  • August 16, 2022 – Presentations of Potential Projects (Pahrump Meeting)
  • September 7, 2022 – Presentations of Potential Projects (Tonopah Meeting)
  • November 15, 2022 – Prioritization of Eligible Projects and Board will determine which projects will be selected to move forward.
