[ARCHIVED] County looks to fill Public Defender contract; Requesting LOI from interested Attorneys or Law Firms

Nye County is requesting Letters of Interest (LOI), including qualifications from attorneys or law firms interested in contracting for public defender services for indigent defendants appearing to answer criminal charges in the 5th Judicial District Court and the Pahrump Justice Courts, Nye County, Nevada. It is the intent of Nye County to secure the services of an independent attorney or a law firm to be primary counsel for courts located in Pahrump.  The contract shall be for an amount not to exceed the following:

  • $29,583, which represents the remaining contract term of Fiscal Year 2021, payable upon execution of contract; and 
  • $150,000, which represents the contract term of the Fiscal year 2022, annually payable in equal quarterly installments for the provision of all indigent defense services as outlined herein.

The term of the contract(s) will begin April 20, 2021, and concluding June 30, 2022. 

All applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. PDT on April 9, 2021.

The materials will be presented to the Nye County Board of Commissioners on April 20, 2021.
