Domestic Violence; Child Abuse and Neglect
Domestic Violence Victim's Assistance Project (DVVAP) (For residents of Northern Nye County/Tonopah)
DVVAP is a project of Volunteer Attorneys for Rural Nevadans (VARN) and provides free civil legal services for victims of domestic violence and abused and neglected children. The areas of services provided include divorce, child custody, guardianship, termination of parental rights, emergency assistance for hearings to modify or extend protection orders, crisis intervention and safety planning.

C.A.A.W. T.P.O (Temporary Protection Order) Office
The T.P.O. office located in the courthouse in Reno, helps domestic violence victims throughout the State of Nevada by offering free forms for requesting protective orders from courts, answering questions about filling out the T.P.O. forms and provides assistance with referrals to other agencies that can help the victims with low-cost or free counseling, food, housing, legal and other emergency assistance.

CARE Law Program
CARE Law provides free legal assistance to seniors with end of life planning, trusts, living wills, powers of attorney, and various other legal questions, in the rural counties of Nevada. To qualify, you must be at least 60 years of age.

Veterans Services
Disabled American Veterans Chapter 15
Veterans help each other with transportation, offer food programs and clothing and motorized wheel chairs. Meetings are every 3rd Tuesday of the month. Call for times and location. The service office within Desert View Hospital at 360 S. Lola Lane in Pahrump offers assistance in filling out paperwork for obtaining veteran benefits on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Closed 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
