Traffic Court Information

IF YOUR CASE IS AT WARRANT, YOU MUST MAKE YOUR PAYMENT THROUGH VALLEY COLLECTION SERVICE 800-244-9665!!!  WARRANT WILL NOT BE CANCELED UNTIL CASE PAID IN FULL.

When you receive your citation, a court date and time will be printed on the citation.  If your citation is marked "Court Mandatory" you will need to appear on the date and time provided on your citation.  The court requires certain offenses to have a mandatory appearance.  Please contact the court to make sure you are not required to appear.

NOTE ABOUT TRAFFIC SCHOOL

You MUST contact this Court if you would like to take a traffic school, prior to making payment on your citation! If you do not, your payment will be applied, your case closed and your conviction sent to the DMV. Traffic school completions are due on or before the date on the bottom of your citation. Traffic court is held at 10 a.m. on the first and third Thursday of each month in the Justice Court courtroom.

In Person

Payments are also accepted in person at the Justice Court by one of the following:

  • Cashier’s check


BY MAIL

If you mail your payment and want a receipt showing that the payment was processed, you must include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your payment. Please write the citation number on your money order or cashier’s check. No personal checks accepted.

After Payment

When full payment of the bail or fine and fees is received by the Court, the citation is closed and the Conviction Notice for the original or amended violation is sent to the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles. To plead not guilty to a traffic citation, you need to send the bail amount along with a letter informing the court that you wish to plead not guilty. Once received, the Court will mail paperwork for you to sign and return and a pre-trial date will be set. The bail money will be held until after your trial and the Court’s decision.
