Daisy's Page

Hello! My name is Daisy and I am in training to be a Therapy dog for Tonopah Justice Court.  I was born January 12, 2018 in Round Mountain, Nevada.  I am an AKC registered English Labrador Retriever.  I joined my forever family in March of 2018.  I was welcomed home by a Poodle/Chihuahua mix named Benny and a chihuahua named Willa, plus three cats. It took them a minute to get used to me, but now we are best of friends. Sometimes they get cranky when I play too rough!   Once I got the hang of doing my business outside, my owner, Judge Klapper, has been bringing me to Justice Court to learn how to interact with people coming in and out of court.  I cannot wait to get to the Courthouse in the morning and greet all the ladies in the office!  When the Judge goes into court, I sometimes sit with her behind the bench and other times I am in the gallery with the bailiff, and sometimes, if I’m feeling a little too frisky, I stay in the office with the ladies.

A few of my favorite things are, long walks, playtime, chasing birds and people. I am smart, I learn commands really quickly (as long as you have treats for rewards!) and thus far know how to, ”Sit”, “Shake”, “Down” and “Stay”.  I am very affectionate, and I like to be petted.  Sometimes I will lay at your feet and roll on my back, so you can rub my belly.

I have already participated in my first safety  drill, earthquake training!   I wasn’t sure why everyone in the office was hiding under their desks, but it was fun going around to each desk checking on everyone!

My goal is to provide affection, comfort, love and to ease the stress of the court's customers.
